Presentations
I've provided countless presentations on the Standards of Conduct in the Federal Government and in the Corporate environments. Presentations are delivered with the understanding that employees were "not born knowing" what constitutes acceptable workplace practices. Further, I provide formal presentations in how to conduct a thorough and proper investigation; interviewing techniques; working and living in the correctional environment through both the staff and inmate perspectives.
Expert Witness
I can provide testimony as an expert investigator and also testimony of how/what it is to work and live in the Correctional work environment for both staff and inmates. I can discuss the daily functions of a Warden and facility Executive staff. I can also provide testimony on proper and ethical Interviewing Techniques.
Lectures
Consistent with the information presented in the previous heading, I provide lectures on Detecting Deception. I've learned this art not from reading text books and novels, but through working 37 years in an occupation where I was constantly deceived. It was essential for me to detect this deception at the outset. I can also discuss the elements of sound leadership versus management and supervision. This distinction needs to be understood by anyone in an existing supervisory role and by those striving to be a supervisor.
Investigations
I can provide investigative services for any issue you may have. I have been conducting formal investigations for nearly 30 years and have overseen or participated in about 20K investigations. This service will include a formal and detailed report for your appropriate use and action.
Investigative Training
I have provided this training to 1000's of staff. The essential elements I cover are: What constitutes an investigation?; When is an investigation appropriate?; What are the appropriate steps in an investigation?; and,How do I conduct an efficient investigation? Further, I teach Evidence Gathering, Interviewing Strategies, and Report Writing. This training is essential for not just Investigators, but also for Managers, Supervisors, Leaders...and parents too!
Human Resources
I have a number of years of formal and informal experience in this area. I worked in the field and at highest level of HR within the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Central Office in Washington, DC. I have technical knowledge and skills in this area and can critique and improve your HR program.
